Logic
NUMEX Expected Move VIX1D is a volatility analysis indicator for intraday traders, especially on the S&P 500 E-mini (ES). Using the VIX1D, it estimates the market's potential range for the US session and projects fluctuation zones directly on the chart.
Levels are anchored to the regular session open, at 9:30 am New York time, to give a stable frame of reference for the whole session. Historical statistics add the average distances travelled by the market and extension envelopes, which help spot potential zones of continuation, slowdown, rejection or unusual extension.
The indicator provides a probabilistic frame for reading volatility: it does not try to predict market direction. It works best combined with price structure, volume zones and order flow signals. Available parameters may vary depending on the version.
